What’s inside the calendar
Each month is one page. Every day shows its date in both calendars, the saints and feasts in Russian and English, and how to fast. The cover sheet explains every colour and mark.

Russian and English, saint by saint
Every feast and saint is printed in both languages, so the whole family or parish reads the same page.
New Style and Old Style dates
Each day shows both dates, such as 25/7 for Nativity, so you never have to count thirteen days.
Feasts ranked at a glance
Pascha, the Twelve Great Feasts and the great feasts stand out in red. Major feasts are set in bold.
Fasting shown on every day
Each day is shaded by its fasting rule, from fast-free weeks to strict fast days, so you can plan meals ahead.
Numbered weeks
Sundays carry their week number through Pre-Lent, Great Lent, Pascha and after Pentecost.
Icons, synaxes and the departed
Feasts of the Mother of God’s icons, synaxes of saints and days to commemorate the departed are marked.
ROCOR feast days
Following the calendar of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
Tear off each month
The current month is always on top. The cover sheet explains every colour and mark.

Questions about the calendar
The questions we are asked most often.
Which languages are on the calendar?
Every page carries both Russian and English at equal weight: month and weekday names, feasts and saints. One calendar serves the whole family or parish, whichever language each person reads first.
How do I order?
Email orders@caleneer.com with the number of calendars and your delivery address. We reply with the total, including delivery, and how to pay, and post your calendars once paid.
Do you offer wholesale pricing for parishes?
Yes. Parishes, church shops and other resellers can order at $10 per calendar for 10 or more (minimum spend $100). Email us with the quantity and where to send them.
Do you deliver outside Australia? How much is postage?
Yes, we deliver worldwide. Postage depends on the destination and the number of calendars, so we quote it in our reply to your order email, before you pay.
Why does the week start on Sunday?
In the Orthodox Church, Sunday is the first day of the week because it is the Lord’s Day: the day of Christ’s Resurrection and the beginning of new creation. The week then flows through to Saturday, the Sabbath, a day of rest. The cycle moves from Resurrection to rest, then begins again with renewed life.
The Russian Church is unified, so what makes this a ROCOR calendar?
ROCOR and the Moscow Patriarchate restored full communion in 2007 through the Act of Canonical Communion, but some differences remain as part of each church’s tradition. For example:
- St John of Shanghai and San Francisco reposed on 2 July. ROCOR celebrates his feast on the Saturday closest to that date.
- St Herman of Alaska reposed on the day of Western Christmas. ROCOR and the OCA keep this tradition, while the Moscow Patriarchate observes his feast on the original Julian date, now 26 December.
Why are only some saints included? Why is my patron saint missing?
The Church commemorates thousands of saints, and not all of them fit on a monthly page. We balance clarity and completeness by including the major feasts and the most widely celebrated saints. If you would like a particular saint included, email contact@caleneer.com and we will consider it for next year.
What does an underlined feast mean?
Some feasts do not have a high service rank but still carry particular importance. These are underlined, much like the coloured underlines on Sundays. Examples include the days of Passion Week.
Why isn’t there an online checkout?
To keep the calendar affordable we avoid payment-platform subscriptions and fees. You email your order, we confirm it with the total and how to pay, and we post once it is paid.
Is there a digital version?
Not at the moment. We think a church calendar works best on paper: the whole month at a glance, no notifications, and something beautiful on the wall. If you need a digital calendar, these are good resources:
- Holy Trinity Orthodox Calendar — Web, iOS and Android. English and Russian.
- Orthodox Church in America: Lives of the Saints — Web. English.
- Azbyka.ru: Orthodox church calendar — Web. Russian.

About Caleneer
Caleneer grew out of a simple frustration: church calendars were hard to read, poorly laid out, or missing the details people actually needed. We set out to re-engineer the calendar, using software to lay out every feast, fast and saint precisely, then printing it in Australia.
We completed our first print run in 2025 and began selling the 2026 calendar that year. The 2027 edition is the first to carry Russian and English on every page. Making it locally gives us control over every detail, from the feast rankings to the eyelet it hangs from.
